The size of the diamond
The right size of the diamond is not defined only on the
basis of measurements and it is also and above all a matter of taste. However
standards have been established which allow evaluating the proportions of a
diamond.
The proportions are expressed as percentages and degrees. On
the basis of the percentage of 100%, which corresponds to the diameter of the
diamond is determined:
The height of the
crown;
The diameter of
the table;
The depth of the
cylinder head;
The thickness of
the girdle;
Proportion of ideal size
Good proportions are out of the stone brilliance and sparkle
that highlight the diamond. This is not the size of the diamond, but the way it
is cut.
It is the art of the size which gives the diamond its
brilliance, its brilliance, its unique way of playing with light.
Facets must be perfectly proportioned; a round diamond
(brilliant cut) has in 58.
